Preparation for IAS exam is made enjoyable by our Secure initiative. This is not an exaggerated claim. Results have proven this and we are sure that when 2015 final results are announced, we will feel vindicated. In 2015 Mains IAS exam, 20 out of 20 questions were either directly or indirectly asked under Secure – 2015 initiative in Paper – 2, and 18 in Paper – 3. For details, check links below. Ideally, you should start covering this initiative from October – 2015 to December – 2016 to do well in Mains – 2016. You can go through to follow previous posts ( ).
Following are the links to Secure – 2016 posts. I gave the Mains this year and I sincerely thanx Insights for their effort.
I made online notes of articles posted in Secure 2015 initiative and while sitting in exam hall of mains I realized that atleast 17 to 18 questions of General Studies were seen by me previously on insights secure initiative. This is enough to boost your confidence in Exam hall!! Thanx Insights Feeling confident this year!! To all aspirants I would request to follow it consistently & surely you would be far more SECURE than others.
Just a piece of advise. Dont ignore your optional for the sake of General Studies!! One more advice needed.do reply if you are available nowadays.m quite confused about what they say buliding the gs foundation as a fresher.but then is it okay relying on self preparation totally when you are a fresher.my parents have been provoking me to join vajiram coz of the unnerving fame and the inevitable institute.but my worry is that not js vajiramshud i at all consider joining a foundation coursewhen my present status is just a healthy habit of reading the newspaper and just hving started with the ncerts.wud be the best help if u cud reply soon.m purely muddled. Can you please help making a schedule throughout the day of how much time to devote for the following:- i) Studying NCERTs ( should notes be made at the time of 1st reading or during 2nd reading i.e revision time) ii) Studying Optional iii) Reading the Hindu iv) Writing 2 or 3 questions from Insights Secure v) Making notes of the remaining questions from Articles vi) Reading Daily Current affairs from Insights Please help me out for I feel lost when so many things have to be done and being a complete fresher in this arenaPlease don’t mind for asking your help in such details. Hmm Notes making is the essence of this preparation. So here is a sample of how to make notes for current issues Today i.e 28th December insights secure has uploaded an article in Bussiness Standard for Real Estate bill.
First lets have a look at the article Since the article majorly refers to issues in real estate sector, not the provisions of the bill.so we need to refer another article from prs, here is the link so first I would make notes of what are the issues in real estate sector, then how the provisions addresses these issues. Then, the loopholes in the bill & lastly the recommendations/ way forward for the issue concerned. Here is how I would have made notes of this article: Issues in Real Sector: 1. Unregulated Rental market 2.
O P Gauba Political Theory Pdf Files
Lack of qualifications for builders 3. Flouting of norms during constructions 4. Uneven economic development, haphazard town planning leading to migrant issues 5.
Corrupt nexus b/w politicians, bureaucrats and builders Provisions of the bill: 1. To set up sate level Real Estate Regulatory Authorities for registration of real estate sector 2.
Online clearances for new projects 3. Real Estate Appellate Tribunal for appeals from RERAs decision Issues in the Bill: 1. ‘Land’ is in State list & the bill differs from several state laws 2. Issues relating to finances not adequately addressed 3. Bill not addresses issues of land acquisition, registration, taxation, lad titling approvals, etc. Recommendations: 1. The bill should regulate commercial real estate as well 2.
Smaller projects needs to be covered 3. All real estate agents must be required to be registered We need not go into technical aspects of the bill as it is not required. Try making as crisp & short notes for better revision later. Although these may not be the perfect notes, but I hope you would get an idea on how to approach the issue.
Make online notes so u can edit them later if required. See in my first attempt, I made offline notes on papers, registers, copies, sticky notes, etc. My situation after 8 months of preparation was that I had 3 registers for Art & culture, 2 registers for Environment, 2 registers for Science & Tech., 3 files for Newspaper notes, 3 registers for Economy, 5 registers for optional, etc. I couldn’t even revise them even once and failed in Prelims.
It was not that I did’nt work hard that year but lack of organised notes costed me 1 year. If you make online notes,u wud have just 1 laptop/computer/ tab to handle and any & every note would be available at just a click.
Plus you can take your notes with you if u r travelling. Plus you can easily edit them & make them short.
Hence, online note making is very strongly recommended. Plz Dont take any chances. Inculcate a habit & u wud love it later!! Just to understand this sequence is the most difficult part of preparation aspirants choose the wrong sequence & suffer later(personal experience) It is most important to finish ncerts 1st finishing ncerts would help u understand newspaper articles better then comes optional. January to March is rightest time for ncerts & optionals if without finishing ncerts & optionals u r investing 3 or 4 hours in insights, it may not be much beneficial enough.
Finish optional u would be much relaxed, then focus on further reading of articles on Secure Mains I hope Insights administrator not blocks me for this advise!! Study routine is a very subjective issue. I am a nocturnal as far as my study routine is concerned. So I dont think it might help u much. But what I always have in mind is the target of the day!!
I always made weekly plans and sub-divided it into daily plans. I never compromised with my target of the day, no matter what!! So I would recommend u to have weekly plans and make no compromises with completion of ur plans. N u will see improvements within a month. And slowly drop by drop, the ocean of Upsc would be accomodated!!
Just to understand this sequence is the most difficult part of preparation aspirants choose the wrong sequence & suffer later(personal experience) It is most important to finish ncerts 1st finishing ncerts would help u understand newspaper articles better then comes optional. January to March is rightest time for ncerts & optionals, while finishing optional & ncerts, focus only on 1 newspaper(The Hindu) if without finishing ncerts & optionals u r investing 3 or 4 hours in insights, it may not be much beneficial enough. Finish optional & u would be much relaxed, then focus on further reading of articles on Secure Mains If u want to do it parallely & can handle both at a time, its fyn enough!! Everyone has his/her own strategy. Remember, It would be sucidal if your ncerts are not complete and u r reading 3 newspapers!!
I hope Insights administrator not blocks me for this advise!! See here you have to be cautious. First finish the prelims syllabus as prelims syllabus is the base of Mains preparation. W/o finishing prelims syllabi you wud not understand well the requirements of Mains. However, along with finishing prelims syllabi if u r following Hindu & Vision Current Affairs, then u need not worry much about Mains as questions in GS 2,3 & 4 are mainly from newspapers only. Finish prelims syllabi till March, then finish Optional Paper 1 till May end. From June start revision from Prelims & u can easily finish Optional Paper 2 after Prelims.
Always remember Optional is more important than GS as far as quantity of marks achieved in concerned!! If this is sufficiently done, u’re surely getting a rank in 2016!! Paper I – Section- A – Problem of Philosophy Dr. Sharma (Indian Philosophy) Dr. Deo Raj (Indian Philosophy) Dr.

I too wrote d mains dis year although i ws ill prepared had startd preparation only in april so the first paper i wrote was in the exam! My optional was medical science as m a dr n i found the analytical questions tough to answer. N ethics really vague.
Not something one can answer from lexicon or synergy notes. Cud u please sharw how to improve answer writing for gs?
Any gud coaching to join? N i have dis query wen people say daily answer writing n secure so many write too. Is it al from memory or one should devote 2-3 hrs to research on all questions n den write d answers to improve d quality n depth? I felt my flow and depth was lacking especially wid time constraints n less practice, i was scribbling the last few answers and i felt most of my answers ended on d same note- like in order to give meaning to mii or di or some scheme. Haf of dem lukd same i mean really need some guidance else m going towards the same line as last year no improvement?? Hello everyone.
I am first time aspirant and facing some issues. Could you please provide some guidance. I will be really thankful to you. My que(silly) are as follows: 1.) I am not able to manage Secure ques with the studies. Currently, I am studying NCERTs.
If i focus and do all insight que by googling up and then forming an answer it takes a lot of time and since insight posts 8-9 que each day, it takes most of time of day. 2) if i decide not to do insight que and do them say, from august, I am afraid there will be too many que to follow up and it will become nearly impossible to cover them all. 3.) doing secure que simultaneously with normal GS prep is making my progress very slow, as i feel. Plz feel free to criticize or say anything (like i am an idiot and not putting in required number of hours ? ). Guys, Happy to share with you, have been sincerely-consistently following insights current affairs for last 50 days.making notes of most of the questions.writing a few questions and journey is really interesting. There are few challenges I m facing, I m sure- few of you will have same challenges.
I am looking for a very small group of only 3-4 guys who are regularly and sincerely doing current affairs question daily. So that we can REVISE and REVIEW each others OLD INSIGHTS CURRENT AFFAIRS QUESTIONS. (Reason: in this community- only fresh questions are reviewed. ) Large groups in wotsapp- is not working out! (tried and tested- it is lot of waste of time sometime without much utility. Secondly: for like minded guys: Looking for 3-4 guys who are preparing/revising- topic Geomorphology so that once this topic is over- we can close our group and move on with new set of group or the same as per need.

Anyone who shares my idea/belief is welcome- but please only serious/sincere aspirant only. We should help each other in pushing if someone is slow in group. Wishing you all Good Luck. Amit Kumar Mob. All, After preparing for iAS (will be attempting iAS 2016 Preliminary) for some months, I am in dilemma of will i be able to crack even Preliminary exam because of my current preparation status, preparation strategy and some personal issues: My current preparation status – Completed India struggle for independence by Bipin Chandra. – Completed Indian Polity by Laxmikant – Couldn’t even start the rest of the subjects/syllabus i.e. Geography, Biodiversity, economics etc.
– Reading Insight current events almost daily. But not able to read newspaper because of time constraints.
– I am starting now NCERT books for X, XI and XII only. – Not able to follow other resource like PIB. – My most of the time is going into making Notes on current affairs. My current preparation strategy. – I make notes of current affairs from Insight in evernote. Below i am mentioning how i m making notes. On Particular Topic What?
Some problems: – I am currently working on top position in Software Industry, and not able to give much time(even trying hard to allocate time) to iAS preparation (Max 3 hours only) – I am married also, so couldn’t leave the job and have to give time to family as well (weekends). – And after preparation for some months, i am feeling that my Preparation Strategy is wrong (After reading people answers in daily writing challenge, i understood that i don’t have this much knowledge and forming the idea about particular subject. Since i do not have time for thinking as well about particular subject/topic. So basically i am reading and making notes). – Not much good in English(grammatical, vocabulary because of my schooling was in Hindi Medium) and now i forgot the Hindi as well (writing, words meaning) – My aptitude also not much good. I strongly want to clear UPSC. Please respond asap since i am completely demotivated.
A lot of thanks for your valuable suggestions. Here the right of recourse, means.
The extent to which suppliers of nuclear material can be held liable for damages caused due to a nuclear accident in India. So if u understand this then the section says that in case of any damage due to nuclear accident the operator(in this case respective Indian authority ) can ask the supplier (the foreign company or firm) why this happened and also for the compensation. But only when the cause of accident is due to any defect in the equipment supplied. That means if the accident happens, say due to a natural calamity then we cant held them responsible for the damage.
Hope it is clear now.:). Q/ What is the nature of crisis in Political Theory? Suggest remedies. Political theory through the entire course of history often has become the subject of intellectual and ideological controversies. The rejection of Normative analysis of the political concepts like Power,Authority,Justice or Rights by the value-neutral studies of some of the thinkers of Quantitative revolution like David Easton created FIRST level of the crisis during mid of Twentieth century. Logical Positivism, originally advanced by a group of political thinkers called ‘Vienna Circle” reflected a deep faith in scientific understanding and declared some of the Core Values of political theory like Liberty,Equality or Justice etc.as not impirically verifiable and thus nonsense.
The rise of Behaviouralism discarded entire tradition of Normative political thinking. The political ideas were redefined by them in terms of reasonable political behavior. The growing dissatisfaction with Behavioral ism among the new generations of political thinkers after 1960’s created the SECOND level of crisis in the study of political theory.Thomas Kuhn, for example emphasized that scientific knowledge is not absolute but is contingent upon the principles, doctrines and theories that structure the process of “Scientific Enquiry” Hence the rise of new social movements brought Normative and Ideological questions back to the forefront to the study of political theory by new generations of thinkers like John Rawls and Robert Mozick creating THIRD level of crisis. However, the revived political theory was in many respects different from their earlier manifestations.Unlike in the past the post-modern thinkers placed more importance upon the role of history and culture in shaping the political understanding. The debates within the debates of nature of crisis of political theory has given birth to many new ideas like-Communitarianism,Multiculturalism and anti-foundationist debates. I fell get boring always please any one give me better tip to overcome from distraction and boring and i used to follow some technique but it couldn’t help me. What i have to do i am so much frustrate about upsc IAs exam i lose 4 attempts, couldn’t clear prelims 2015 i got (85+148 around) marks and 2014 (80+97 )and 2013 (56+137) and 2012 (10+100) Gs 1 and csat respectively, even though i didn’t focus on studies very boring for me and disappointed and insightsonindia website provided a lot of information that too very frustrated me i am just in middle of the ocean any one can give me sail boat to come out successful in exam!!
@InsightsOnIndia:disqus. Hello, I am just an anonymous reader of answers on the Disqus forum. I was wondering if anyone could suggest me regarding the same. My question might sound IRRELEVANT to you but let me tell you in my defence that i am at very JUVENILE stage of my preparation. My question is;- The answers which you write for questions posted there, how do you proceed about it Do you take a paper and a pen and start writing about it whatever comes in your mind?
OR DO you search and read about that topic and then FRAME the answers accordingly?
